More recently, her research has focused on the surgical and restorative aspects of guided implant surgery, as well as the use of salivary biomarkers to distinguish periodontal health from disease and to monitor treatment response. These findings were presented at the IADR General Session in Barcelona in 2025.

She is actively involved in dental education, with extensive experience as a clinical demonstrator, lecturer and examiner of undergraduate dental students. She currently teaches within the Doctor of Dental Surgery program at the University of Melbourne and holds a position as Senior Professional Practice Fellow at the University of Otago Faculty of Dentistry.
